Handbags
The bags are manufactured by mothers that are heads of their households, a indigenous group
in San Jacinto- Bolivar, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Cartagena de Indias.
Most of them have three techniques: arrow cane (cana flecha) which is the material that is used
to make the typical Colombian hat called “Sombrero Vueltea o” ; Telar Apaleado (beaten loom)
and Crochet.
Others have an additional technique called Wayu, and is derived by an indigenous tribe called
Wayu that lives in northern Colombia.
All of the bags have a waterproof lining inside.
